Ephesians 6:13-18

How do I start my very first blog entry? I've had blogs in the past, but usually write one or two posts and then abandon it. This one is particularly important to me because I want my future children to read it. I know that may sound weird, but I remember when I first realized my mom had a  life (29 years!) before I was born. I think I was 6 years old. It was the oddest thing to figure out!

Scott and I are waiting 2 years until we bring children into this world...which is a difficult thing when you are a woman and your instincts ignite the desire to be a mother. However, I will have patience and prepare my soul for this huge responsibility. I already have the books (What to Expect When You're Expecting, The Stay at Home Parent's Survival Guide, and Your Emotions While Pregnant.)

So, that's the preface to my blog. I realize it could be more than two years, so to say that I want to "live all I can" before kids is slightly dramatic. (Ok! I know I was a Theatre major and dramatics are in my bones!) I saw a psychic years ago (before I was baptized...) and she said I would have 3 children-and to potty train early. We'll see. :-)

I need a place to pour out the thoughts that are in my head. It's weird yet comforting writing and knowing that I have an audience. I'll try my best to keep this authentic.

I was trying to find a Bible verse on the fact that God has a purpose for every individual on this earth. While searching I found Ephesians 6:13-18 (The Message):

13-18Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life..."

As for the title of my blog, I picked "la mia bella vita" ("my beautiful life"), a phrase in Italian. My Grandmother was 100% Italian. I actually have a photocopy of the "List of Alien Passengers on the USS Europa" ship from 1921 departing from Genoa, Italy with my Great Grandfather, Battista Girardi's name and age (28) heading to New York City. I want to visit Asti, Italy one day. I am fascinated by his adventure being two years older than me heading to America.

So, here is my adventure! Each and every day let me embrace the moment and enjoy life.
